Double board-certified pain management and anesthesiology specialist William Tyson, MD, provides outstanding customized care at AABP Integrative Pain Care.
Dr. Tyson received his undergraduate degree in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin (UTAustin), graduating magna cum laude. Next, he acquired his medical degree from The University of Texas McGovern School of Medicine (UTHealth), located in the world-renown Texas Medical Center, in Houston.
He completed his internship, Anesthesiology residency, and fellowship in Pain Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) in New York City, New York.
Dr. Tyson focuses on both acute and chronic pain management. He is skilled at managing acute (short-term) pain syndromes such as muscle and soft tissue injuries, sports injuries, overuse injuries to joints, spinal disc bulges and herniations, and peripheral nerve injuries.
His areas of expertise for managing chronic (long-term) pain syndromes includes chronic headache (both migraine and non-migraine), fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis/rheumatoid arthritis, spinal stenosis, chronic abdominal pain, neuropathic pain, arthritis of the joints of the spine and pelvis and persistent pain following spinal or joint replacement surgery.
Dr. Tyson is enthusiastic about and up to date on the latest technological developments in pain medicine, utilizing them to achieve long-lasting pain relief for his patients.
He is proficient in Minimally Invasive Lumbar Decompression (MILD), and regenerative medicine (Platelet Rich Plasma and other biologics) as well as peripheral and central neuromodulation (nerve stimulators) and various forms of neuroablative (radiofrequency ablation, cryoablation) techniques.
Believing in an integrated team approach to the treatment of pain, Dr. Tyson incorporates all members of the care team (medical specialists, physical and occupational therapy, acupuncture, mental health professionals, and others as required).
